About the Artist
Ayotunde (2000) is a multidisciplinary artist from Nigeria, currently based in Cyprus. His artistic journey began during a period of isolation in his youth, using art as an outlet for his emotions. Living with his father and stepmother, he often felt disconnected until discovering the world of comic drawings, which fueled his passion for creating. Ayotunde’s migration experience in Cyprus has profoundly influenced his work, infusing it with diverse cultural perspectives. His art, showcased in exhibitions such as the Diaspora EU Vote, explores themes of identity, culture, and human emotion, reflecting both his personal experiences and broader societal issues. His work spans various mediums, including oil paint, acrylic, pastel, and graphite, allowing him to explore and express a wide range of themes and emotions. Also influenced by his passion for scuba diving, Ayotunde’s art offers a distinctive perspective on the natural world. The ability to navigate multiple disciplines and his deep connection to nature make his work a powerful statement on the beauty and fragility of life.
